Dr. Dark presents Mohammad // Yerba Mansa // Jon Collin With guests Yerba Mansa & Jon Collin

Please note this is an 18+ event

Spend an evening exploring the dark nether regions of the peak in avant-everything music making.

Deep chamber drones, shamanistic ritual improv and sideways guitar approaches abound.

Mohammad:

Mohammad have been forging their deep monolithic sound, bringing together low frequencies, inter-modulations, dark textures, and distant folk nuances through custom made instruments and software.

Their sonic arsenal is equally deployed live, a ceremonial experience in physical sound [quoted by some as ‘Chamber Doom”] that evokes a wide emotional palette.

Yerba Mansa:

Edwin Stevens (Irma Vep, Sex Hands, Klaus Kinski etc) and Andrew Cheetham (Kieran Leonard, ABC trio, Birchall/Cheetham duo etc) are two of Manchester’s most prolific purveyors of raging, outer-limits rock-ism. Both members of free-rock army Desmadrados Soldados de Ventura (as well as countless other projects) they take a similar blueprint for their head-to-head skyscraping duo, only with a singularity of heavy chord chug that aligns them with Gown or even Michael Flower & Chris Corsano.

Jon Collin:

“Across the four tracks on his second LP, Jon Collin reiterates his interest in mining the emotional potential of the guitar, utilising a vast grasp of the capabilities of the instrument… His grasp on the relationship between the resonant qualities of the hollow-bodied guitar and the wails of feedback and reverberation produced by the amplifier is extraordinary.” – Matt Krefting, The Wire
