Workshop: Kerry Leigh

Are you secretly harbouring the desire to perform stand up? Do you watch wistfully from the audience thinking ‘I can do that?’ Find your funny with this 4 hour introduction to stand up comedy workshop facilitated by comedian Kerry Leigh –  available for up to 12 participants with the opportunity to perform at an open mic on Friday 28th October.

Participants are welcome to bring any ‘material’ they are already working on. The workshop will cover such aspects as mic technique, delivery, timing and confidence…and, most importantly, biscuits.

Kerry has taught stand up to various groups over the years on behalf of Laughology, including during the 2013 WIC festival to 12 women who all shone on their performance night – half of whom have gone on to become regular comedy performers and public speakers.

Daphna Baram : Beggin’ To Differ

Daphna Baram, a middle-Eastern Mary Poppins, says it as it is – though sometimes she probably shouldn’t. The comedian/ journalist/ ex-Israeli-human rights lawyer/immigrant offers a first glimpse of her fourth solo Brighton Fringe offering.

“masterful … . Her fantastic way with words and bone dry humour have the audience in fits of laughter… Superbly refreshing” (Bunbury Magazine).

Directed by Amanda Baker.

Lydia Bernsmeier-Rullow

Host and compere of The Boi Zone, Manchester’s premiere Drag King night, Lydia is a natural entertainer

Georgie Morrell

Being disabled is Georgie’s excuse to do exactly what she wants, say what she wants and live her one eyed life as she wants.

Mel Medford

Mel has been gigging for the last couple of years doing opening and middle spots in the North West including Laughing Cows, Comedy Balloon, A Laugh in Stockport, Dead Cat, Women in Comedy Festival and North West Comedy Collective.  She tells funny stories. Quite rude.

Arielle Souma

A strong, hilarious performer that keeps you in stitches from beginning to end.

“She is what the comedy industry needs and should be forced upon every audience until they buckle under her spell”  (Frankie Boyle)
