Big Other single launch for ‘Explain It Again’, out 27/09/24!

Dream pop deconstructionists? Post-shoegaze powerpop? The Big Other sound is as ineffable as the emotions they wish to articulate. The motif is urgency, to put as many ideas into a short amount of time as possible: think a more fragile, ‘90s alt rock rendering of Wire on speed or Stereolab with a rocket up the rhythm section’s arse, to quote notable fan Jack Harkins of Mancunian contemporaries Autocamper. The said rhythm section comprises Ben Philips (also of Chew Magna) and bassist Kane Martin (Threads), whose muscular riffs are excavated from the school of Fugazi’s Joe Lally and The Fall’s Steve Hanley, ensuring an impossibly tight unit.
