Sorry we missed Halloween. Hope this effective slice of Euro-Horror makes up for it.

Triggered by childhood abuse at the hands of his drunken father, an unnamed young deaf/mute becomes increasingly isolated and withdrawn. He plays with dolls. He is besotted by his female neighbour. He visits prostitutes. He begins to live out his craving for mutilating corpses, drinking their blood and collecting eyeballs. Scrawling the scene of his crimes with the word “Mosquito”.
When tragedy occurs, he develops a cruel urge to kill. Can he be stopped?

Weird in tone and bizarre in content, this sleazy psycho drama is loosely based on the crimes of Kuno Hofmann, better known as the “Vampire of Nuremberg”. It’s well filmed, with solid performances and an eerie score, with some dodgy gore effects and gratuitous sex. What’s not to like?
