Most Joyous presents Leisure Theory

Please note this is an 18+ event

Creating a unique blend of electronic indie pop, Leisure Theory is the project of Irish producer, Jake Smith.

Releasing self-produced debut EP, This Is My Password in early 2019, Leisure Theory began performing live, selling out two Manchester headline shows and an Irish homecoming tour.

Faced with the halt of live shows throughout 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, work quickly began on 2nd EP, Deliverance.

Expanding on production values, Deliverance received extensive support from Amazing Radio, BBC Northern Ireland and became a fresh favourite of BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson.

“Leisure Theory sees indie rock and electro pop battle it out before calling it a score draw”

The Daily Mirror

In 2021, Smith enlisted the help of various artists and producers, a first foray into the world of collaboration, writing from a perspective of current events both personal and global.

The result – Leisure Theory’s third extended play, “Momentary Ordinary” – The most polished and pop sounding material to date.

This year, Leisure Theory returned to the stage after a two-year live hiatus to perform a headline show at Manchester’s AATMA.

A new, guitar driven pop single, Red followed in February, signifying the end of an era before work commenced on new material.

Promising a return to their early production mission statement of sequencer-lead, dance tracks, Leisure Theory are working hard on crafting new and exciting tracks for EP 4.

Upcoming single “Was the Money” lives up to this and fizzes with an exuberant new lease of life.

With the hope of debuting new material ahead of a 2023 release, Leisure Theory will play Gullivers, Manchester on Saturday 3rd December.
