We welcome in the New year with an overlooked taboo-busting tale of forbidden lust and horror.

Linsay Finch is newly wed, but cannot consummate her marriage with her handsome husband. She has a secret. She is a necrophile. She can’t help it. Her lust is not in the bedroom, but the mortuary. And she is not alone. She is recruited by a Satanic cult of corpse lovers, with members whose pathology is far more dangerous and murderous than hers. As her relationship crumbles, a tragic accident leads to a shocking turn of events.

Love Me Deadly is the first and only film by its director Jacques La Certe, who manages to deliver moments of unsettling horror within a torrid melodrama. It also features a necro themed original song (which doesn’t feel out of place). Unavailable in the UK since 1981 (Hokushin video tape), it’s a well made shocker that gets under your skin.
