Scruff of the Neck presents Sugarstone [Postponed]

Please note this is an 18+ event

Four-piece Alternative Pop band from Preston, now Manchester UK.

These lads bring something new and exciting to the table, pooling together their diverse, individual music tastes to create a new unique sound. Drawing in their inspiration from 80s New Romantic Pop, New Wave and Ska echoing the likes of Duran Duran, Wolf Alice, Highly Suspect and Nothing But Thieves.

Their first debut single ‘Think About It’ released March 2016 on Soundcloud, allowing the new band to experiment with their early sound. Seeking more experience, the four-piece began touring the local gig scene and attracted a crazed young following; they started writing bigger, infectious songs with haunting melodies and guitar solos that stay with you. Aiming to develop their sound further, they approached ‘3507 Studios’ sound designer Nick Sagar who recorded, developed and produced their launch EP ‘Hence My Offence’. The album was finished and debuted all digital media platforms September 2017.

They created a local following in their hometown and took giant strides – releasing a music video for their single ‘Dance Like a Pagan’ as they worked through their second year of college.

After shifting to their Manchester universities, the band have produced and recorded their newest

track ‘Five Earth-Like Worlds’, tapping into a sickly sweet 80’s New Wave vibe littered with playful melodies and vocals. The brand new single debuted Friday 9th November. From 1st of December 2018, their track ‘Five Earth-Earth Like Worlds’ was starting to be played on BBC Introducing Lancashire.

On the 19th of April 2019, the boys announced the release of their next single ‘I Wanna Be Famous’ May 3rd.
