Our September screening is a gloriously rough‑edged Indonesian action film. Part revenge thriller, part Rambo rip-off.

The story follows Rambu (that’s not a typo), a soft‑spoken, decent man who becomes a reluctant vigilante after crossing paths with a local gang. What begins as a simple act of decency — stepping in when thugs harass a street vendor — spirals into a cycle of retaliation that consumes his life. When the gang murders his wife, the quiet man becomes a weapon, and the city becomes his battleground.

The Intruder doesn’t have the budget, polish, or narrative discipline of its Hollywood inspiration, but it compensates with sheer conviction. Every punch, explosion, and villainous sneer is delivered with exaggerated flair. It’s anything but subtle!
