This Feeling presents The Velvet Hands

Please note this is an 18+ event

The Velvet Hands (Toby Mitchell, Dan Able, Sam Hilder and Louis Mitchell) blend slacker story-telling with fierce guitar hooks to create unstoppable energy that has drawn comparisons to The Strokes and Parquet Courts. The Cornish four piece have been described by Gigslutz as ‘Jaw droppingly good’ and by NME as ‘full of bolshy Spirit’. The bands self recorded debut album went on to be Huw Stephens Radio 1 ‘Album of the week’, with John Kennedy of Radio X stating that ‘Every single they’ve released is an instant hit as far’. The Velvet Hands embody the pure essence of rock’n’roll.

Musically inspired by all of the greats, it’s their lyrics that bring the band hurtling into the 21st century. From 1 minute opener Sick of Living (you’re 16 and your life’s a sham, sick of living, yes i am), to the universal tales of toxic relationships and modern self doubt in ‘Only Blame Myself’ and ‘Games’. Their relatable lyrics and catchy melodies are winning hearts up and down the country, securing them support tours with YAK, The Bluetones and VANT.

On June 13th The Velvet Hands bring you their latest offering ‘Don’t Be Nice To Me’. Coming in at just 2 minutes long, it’s an energetic hit that captures the youthful frustration of being tied down to unwanted situations such as school, a relationship or a job, and wanting to escape.

June sees the band supporting Liam Gallagher & Paul Weller and headlining the This Feeling stage at Isle of Wight festival.
