Tia Gordon is a singer-songwriter from Kent who’s been singing since the age of 4. Given a
guitar by her best friend in her teenage years, Tia started writing and producing her own songs
and secretly putting them on soundcloud to positive reactions, giving her the confidence to
continue making original content. She finally decided to put her face out there with her music
and created an Instagram in 2019, where she uploaded snippets of originals as well as posting
covers every Wednesday without fail, resulting in a strong organic following.
Tia released her debut single ‘Call Me’ early 2022 to acclaim from tastemakers such as Abbie
McCarthy, DJ Target, Victoria Jane, Rickie, Melvin & Charlie among others. It was Abbie
McCarthy’s ‘Introducing Track of the Week’ and Spotify made her the cover of their UK ‘Fresh
Finds’ playlist off the back of supporting.
Shortly after, we saw the release of her second single ‘Price You Pay’ which was also well
received, culminating in Tia being invited to apply for the 2022 BBC Introducing Live Lounge
competition and finished as runner up, out performing hundreds of other applicants and
impressing award winning judges Mahalia & Mabel.
In that same year, Mahalia invited Tia to perform at the sold out Christmas edition of her
‘Mahalia Presents’ series, the biggest one yet at Lafayette. Tia made her debut live performance
with a full band alongside Sasha Keable and RUTI to great reception from the audience and
Mahalia herself.
2023 opened with Tia continuing her live performance run supporting UK rapper Sidders at his
headline show at Hootenanny, Brixton. Following that performance, Tia released 2 singles over
4 months, ‘Cold Showers’ & ‘On My Mind’ and the latter came with a stunning music video
directed by Anna Peterson, shot entirely on 8mm film. Both singles were both well received and
had extensive DSP support across multiple streaming platforms, airplay across the BBC Radio
network and also at community radio. Tia closed off the year with a great performance
headlining the BBC Introducing stage at Roundhouse Rising x BBC Introducing Live festival.
2024 Q2 saw Tia release her debut EP ‘with love. x’ to great reception. The 5 track project was
supported by lead single ‘a little love for myself’ and it shows Tia’s writing at her most
vulnerable yet. Drawing from personal experiences, Tia truly wears her heart on her sleeve as
she talks about love lost, love found and everything in between. Tia released two additional
singles ‘Good Enough’ and ‘Miss You’ to acclaim, leading to held her debut headline show at
Servant Jazz Quarters in Nov 2024 which sold out over 4 weeks upfront. In the same month, Tia
was also part of Spotify UK’s Fresh Finds campaign which included heading to the office to
capture content, support on socials & on platform and a nationwide OOH campaign with
locations in London & Dublin.
2025 saw Tia release her sophomore EP ‘wait! I have something to say. X’ to critical acclaim.
Working with the likes of Pip Millet, Sophie Faith, Mom Tudie, Jay Lewn & frequent collaborator
Darryl Dodoo, the project immediately illustrated the growth from her debut as she talks about
her family, heritage and maturing where she is not being taken for granted, among other things.
On launch of the EP, Spotify made her their RADAR First Listen Artist and featured covers on
flagship Spotify playlists R&B UK and RADAR UK + IRELAND among more extensive coverage.
That summer also saw Spotify invite Tia out to Glastonbury as part of their Fresh Finds
campaign.
Summer 2025 saw Tia make her festival debut at Cross The Tracks where she had an evening
slot and shared billing with the likes of BexBlu, Kaicrewsade & others. Towards the latter end,
Tia also took to Omeara for her sold out sophomore headline show before flying to Amsterdam
for her debut international show as she headlined Supafly festival. These were tied around her
final lead single of the year ‘I wish I could’ which was released shortly before.
Tia releases her next EP in May 2026, with the majority of records being products of writing trips
from outside of the UK. Tia is also set to embark on her debut headline UK/EU tour in late 2026
