Trupa Trupa is a rock, psychedelic, post punk band from Gdańsk, Poland.
According to Metro, they are combining post-punk and psych with skill. “The Beatles sing Joy Division oversimplifies them but doesn’t misrepresent them”. According to The Guardian, “the band’s music blends off-kilter melodies, dense instrumentation and lyrical explorations of the darkest side of the human condition”. The Times compares them to Sonic Youth, Radiohead and the Manchester scene in the 80s. According to Mojo, their “gripping and energetic record packs a serious punch”. KEXP highlights “ominous guitars, stern rhythms and haunting melodies” and The Quietus agrees. As Pitchfork describes, “Trupa Trupa are the rare dystopian post-punk band to embrace optimism and levity as necessary survival mechanisms. They may not have the perfect prescription for a better world, but they welcome you to imagine one together”.

Manchester post-punks LIINES are Zoe McVeigh (vocals, guitar) and Leila O’Sullivan (drums) with a live bassist. LIINES formed in 2014 and have built a reputation as one of the most exciting acts to emerge from Manchester in recent years. Their sound is an infectious, urgent and at times furious blend of Riot Grrrl, post-punk and alt-rock sounds which take in elements of their collective influences. There’s the dark angular undertones and brooding introspection of Joy Division, the high energy of The Pixies and the emotive, impassioned sound of Sleater-Kinney wrapped in catchy fast-paced riff-laden songs.
In the last few years they toured with Sleaford Mods, and supported Ladytron, The Wedding Present, Ash, Hot Snakes and Slow Readers Club. They’ve been handpicked by Tim Burgess and BBC Introducing for festival slots and were Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition finalists. And they’ve received radio play from a number of 6 Music DJs, Radio X’s John Kennedy, BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and more.
