UK Country Live presents Holloway Road

Please note this is an 18+ event

The first thing you notice about emerging UK duo Holloway Road’s live performance is that it doesn’t look like country music; they’re more baseball caps and trainers than Stetsons and boots. But the sound they make sits somewhere between the country-pop chart and the Nashville songwriting they both grew up listening to. The second thing you notice is the crowd’s response; Holloway Road – songwriters, vocalist and multi-instrumentalists Jack Cooper & Robert Gulston – have spent the last couple of years playing throughout the UK’s burgeoning country scene while honing their live show, and as a result they understand the importance of being both a standout name on any lineup and a high energy crowd-pleaser.

They haven’t been afraid to gain momentum while learning their craft – having shared stages with The Shires, Lindsay Ell, American Young and more; named BCMA & UKCountryRadio Duo of The Year; written and performed in Nashville on multiple occasions; performed for the Country to Country (C2C) crowds along with an appearance at the first Country Music Week in London; and landed all three of their self-released EPs in the iTunes country top ten thanks to radio play and streaming support across the UK for their singles ‘Little Harder, ‘Where We Are Tonight’, and ‘If She Falls’, with over half a million combined streams for their releases to date – and with national coverage in publications including Vice, Country Music Magazine and The Daily Mail (“an impressive set for a huge mob of fans…”) success in a growing international country scene increasingly seems like an inevitable part of the Holloway Road story.

Radio support to date has included the Chris Country A-list, BBC Radio 2 Country and a live appearance on regional stations including BBC Radio London, and towards the end of 2017 the band set out on their first UK headline tour, which was documented in the music video for recent single ‘Under Cover’, available to watch/stream/download now.

In March 2018 Holloway Road simultaneously released two new singles, ‘In The Dark’ & ‘No Place’, with the tracks – which found support across streaming, radio and blogs – described by the band as a taste of what was to come on their third EP. ‘Broke’ followed in September 2018 after their appearance at the inaugural Long Road Festival in the UK; featuring six brand new tracks combining co-writes and transatlantic Nashville-London collaborations including the lead single ‘Hang Over Here’, which was added to Apple’s Country Wide playlist upon release, among other support.
