‘Valetta are the hastily assembled barricade standing between the listener and a tsunami of unrestrained cerebral energy and beatlesque harmonies, relentlessly accelerated by the tectonic shifting of time signatures. The band frantically assemble these raw ingredients into indelible psychedelic shanties that cascade towards the beleaguered fishing village that is Manchester’s psychedelic rock scene.’
It was during the dark days of 2020 lockdown when Manchester based art-rock quartet Valetta discovered the psychedelic, cinematic sound exhibited on debut EP Your Future in an Email. The band now return with God Lives Underground, which sees them explore new sonic territory and grander lyrical themes.
With support from the hugely talented Ellen Beth Abdi and Jed Timms, Valetta will launch God Lives Underground at Gullivers, Manchester on 31st August.
