Sonia Aste: Queen Of Flamenco

Grab coffee and a donut and join your fellow parents and teachers to chat about the upcoming year for the Brixton charter school! Go Beavers!!” Tragically all the members of the PTA are taken ill except for Meredith, a recently divorced mom of two. Can she keep the meeting on track? Can she deal with her emotional baggage? Why does she have coffee filters on her boobs? (plus donuts!) The QUEEN OF FLAMENCO is back in Manchester for more knee jerking, foot stomping laughter!

Hilarious jokes mixed in with fan work, castanets and Rumba moves – this evening will have you laughing and clapping – Spanish Style! A night of comedy and dance – OLE!

Sonia is a witty Spanish comedian who is not afraid to poke fun at other cultures, especially her own. Her friendly personality makes the audience trust her and go with her on her gags.  Her comedy is full of sparkling passion and she makes everyone part of the show.

‘Maria Queen of Flamenco lit up the stage with her tales of the struggle a Flamenco Dancer faces. You could feel the warmth from the audience in the room towards the character and everyone was left wanting to know how Maria gets on with her quest for work.’ Amy Christer / Theatre Programmer/Producer (Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival)

Sahar Mirhadi : Dawn of the Geek

Sahar Mirhadi is bringing her debut solo comedy show Dawn of the Geek for one last time at the Women In Comedy Festival.

Dawn of the Geek is a story of self acceptance, of passion meeting obsession, and of stereotypes dancing in a dazzling Anglo-Iranian beat. We learn how she dealt with the recurrence of being shunned for Nintendo, left for wrestling and lied to by Walt Disney. Expect treats and lots of love in this tale of discovery.

Sahar Mirhadi has been performing comedy since 2011. With an energetic stage presence and confessional storytelling style, she makes you feel at home straight away with her quick witted banter.

Sajeela Kershi : Shallow Halal

What happens when you spend your childhood looking for religious loopholes, like licking your way through Ramadan? A complacent-yet uneasy adulthood as an agnostic in agony – that’s what!

Now that comedian Sajeela Kershi is all grown up, the identity crisis has not gone away and with column inches reserved for homogenised stereotypes, comedian Sajeela Kershi , wonders if she has become a cartoon version of herself. She’s had enough of Koran-hijacking extremists, Dawkins-spouting atheists and finger pointing social media to last a lifetime! Can #hashtags really save humanity or just stoke up Armageddon?

Are you struggling to understand your place in the 21st century? Keep Calm and Carry On to this critically acclaimed show that has sold out nights from Edinburgh, Brighton, London West End and Prague Fringe.

‘This is a thought-provoking and heart-warming show about family, religion and maintaining a positive outlook’ ★★★★ ThreeWeeks
